Membership of the Eastern Community Assistance Team is open to anyone.
You do not need to be a driver or vehicle owner to assist the community with us. We also need Controllers and people who can 'buddy-up' with our 4x4 drivers in severe weather to help with communication, navigation and even recovery.
Drivers should have held a full UK driving licence for a minimum 3 years and have no more than 6 points on their licence.
Although useful you do not need experience in off road driving to become a responder, we ask only that you are willing to learn through training sessions provided free of charge where possible, from experienced members or at a reduced rate from our Supporters.
First Aid Courses and Navigation Exercises
There are no set requirements for the make or type of 4x4 you have - totally standard or 'tricked-up' - but it must have current MOT, tax and 'voluntary use' or 'business use' insurance and be legal to use in the UK.
Don't have a 4x4?
It really doesn't matter! We would love for you to join the group in a general support role, attending shows, helping us to fundraise, maybe even as a Radio or Callout Controller.
Families are also very welcome to get involved and come along to events.
In order to join EA-CAT, there is a one-off fee of just £20 to help cover necessary PPE, ID card & stickers and an 'Enhanced' DBS check.
Annual renewal is currently only £5 a year!
